Dr. Josiana Cetta has been in private practice for 10 years helping children, adolescents, adults and families to reach their goals. Prior to starting a private practice, Dr. Cetta worked in school settings, community mental health centers, and a bereavement support center. Her clinical experiences and training have included psychodynamic play therapy, cognitive behavioral and behavioral therapies, social skills training, group therapy, trauma treatment, grief counseling, and assessment.
Dr. Cetta is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and has a PSYPACT License allowing her to provide teletherapy interjurisdictionally within participating states. Dr. Cetta is also a certified School Psychologist. She specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults and families struggling with stress, anxiety and adjustment issues. Dr. Cetta is very knowledgeable on the topics of autistic spectrum disorder, trauma, attention deficits, adjustment issues, anxiety disorders and learning challenges.
A graduate of Bucknell University, Dr. Cetta went on to pursue a Doctor of Clinical Psychology at Widener University's Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology. Dr. Cetta wrote her dissertation on the topic of Asperger's syndrome and transition. She graduated with a concentration in School Psychology.
I strongly believe that my clients come into treatment innately having the skills within them to not only feel better, but to make a meaningful difference in the world. I act as a guide to teach you what typically can help, we work as a team, and I also learn from you.
When working with children, I require parents to be involved for parts of their child's treatment to empower parents to better understand their children's needs. I believe in the importance of family involvement and strengthening one's support system using psychoeducation and communication strategies.
I encourage clients to become active participants in therapy and to ask questions as they arise. In turn, I will do my best to inform you of the rationale behind my techniques. At times, I offer visual supplemental materials to complement verbal information presented in session.
